Affordable Housing in Newark

The City of Newark currently has 400 homes affordable to income-qualifying households, including seniors and people experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

Importantly, the City does not own or manage these homes. If you or someone you know are interested in one of these homes, you are encouraged to contact the property manager directly using one of the below links, or reach out to your social services provider or a Housing Resource Center for assistance in submitting an application or reserving a spot on the wait list.

Future Affordable Housing

In the coming years, the City anticipates opening over 200 more affordable homes, including homes for families.

The City of Newark is working to steadily increase the number of affordable homes, and to provide more types of affordable homes to families and households of different sizes and needs. If you are interested in one of these new homes, you are encouraged to register for each building’s interest list once it becomes available. The City will update this page as more information becomes available for each property.
